Sing it with me! “When the dog bites, when the bee stings, when I’m feeling sad, I simply grab my favorite oils, and then I don’t feel so bad.” I think the song went something like that…
If you are wondering What Essential Oils Are and How You Can Use Them, you can read my previous posts. We have a few oils that create a semi-state of emergency in our home if we run out of them. Here are a couple of our favorite essential oils that we always try to keep on hand.
Peppermint is a very versatile oil. We use it for tummy aches, headaches, bug bites, bee stings, fire ant bites, fevers, and other issues. I love how it smells, and I like the taste of it as well, although it is very strong. A drop under your nose will help you stay alert for driving when you’re tired.
Lavender- it’s the oil that started it all for me. I’ll tell you the story sometime. We use it for colds, allergies, headaches, burns, bloody nose, and bites.
This is my happy oil, remember? I love how it smells. It just makes me super happy! I love putting a couple drops in my glass of water (make sure your cup is glass). It is wonderful for sore throats, and for boosting the immune system, cleansing, and as a mood enhancer. Have I mentioned that it makes me happy??
Frankincense is a powerhouse! It’s great for warts, allergies, snake bites (we have never had an opportunity to use it for this, and that makes me very happy, just like lemon oil does!), cancer, depression, asthma, and it can help rejuvenate skin.
Myrtle is the very first oil we ordered from Hopewell Essential Oils. We have used it for stuffy noses, and sinus infections. I would not want to run out of this oil! I like to use one drop of Myrtle in my netti pot.
So, there you have it- a few of our favorite oils. Here’s to hoping we don’t run out and enter that semi-state of emergency.
