“Mommmmmy. I’m hungry. I’m thirsty. What can I have?” say the red-faced children as they come racing through the front door.
They want tasty, I want healthy.
They want fast, I want easy.
They want it now, I just want chocolate.
I can help you with all of this (Except the chocolate. You have to go to Chocolate Strawberry Kefir Smoothie for that.)
Orange Kefir Is an All Around Win
We tend to consume a large amount of kefir in our family. When you have 7 people begging for kefir smoothies or kefir drinks, you tend to move through some kefir.
I love that they love this amazing probiotic goodness. Kefir is loaded with multiple strains (30-50) of gut-healing bacteria. That makes this drink an amazing powerhouse of health. My children just think it tastes yummy!
The flavor of this drink reminds me of a certain orange frothy drink usually found at a certain store in the malls. 🙂
Just 3 ingredients earn you the title of “best mom ever”.
Creamy Orange Kefir That Will Have You Begging for More
1/2 (12 oz) can frozen orange juice concentrate
1 qt kefir (store bought or make your own)
2 tsp vanilla extract
- Place half a can of frozen orange juice concentrate in the blender. (Put the lid back on the orange juice concentrate and use the rest another day.)
- Add the kefir and vanilla.
- Blend until smooth. This makes 3-4 servings.
That’s it. It is so incredibly easy. My children love this treat, as well as our Purple Cow Kefir drink. And I love these child-friendly and extremely healthy recipes that distract my children long enough for me to sneak some chocolate.
Is Creamy Orange Kefir something your children would like? What about you? I also make an Apple Pie Kefir Drink that is my personal favorite.

WE love kefir too, and this sounds delightful, and love that it is so easy.
My fav is strawberry, but think I would like to buy some plain kefir and
put fresh strawberries in it……….sounds yummy and so does the orange
one………will definitely give this a try. Thanks hon for sharing this..

I love strawberry kefir as well. So yummy! Thank you for stopping by!
I definitely know some munchkins that love that orange creamsicle flavor – which I’m hoping these end up having! I’ll feel better about myself knowing I’d be giving them some healthy kefir enriched goodies rather than a sugar filled creamsicle. Thanks for sharing this! Excited to make this at home!
Hi Billy- Thank you for stopping by! I’m not sure you will get the creamsicle flavor, but it’s still super yummy. I hope your crew enjoys it. Yippee for tasty probiotics. 🙂
This looks wonderful! We are new to kefir- just started making it. I don’t have the concentrate on hand, but could I sub some frozen cubes of fresh juice? I don’t know if there is a difference with the fresh citrus. It wouldn’t curdle it, right? Technically it already is?
Melissa- Thank you for stopping by! I believe it would work. I haven’t tried it, but I think you are right on track! Enjoy!
